Become part of the PRS family!

    As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to apply or develop your talents, skills, knowledge, and past experiences. There are many types of things that you can do to be of help.

    We believe that you will also be blessed by the camaraderie and friendships that will develop as you spend time with us. Often we discover that the Lord brings us together not only to serve our clients, but to build each other up in friendship.

    Even if you think you don't have much to offer in terms of abilities or background, please know that your compassionate heart is valuable.  

    We have the following areas of ongoing needs for volunteers:       

• Administrative or clerical skills
• Lay-counseling (volunteer training  required)
• Assist with fundraising activities
• Organize donated clothes, baby supplies, and furniture
• Liaison between PRS and your church or organization (volunteer training suggested)
• Earn While You Learn Mentor (EWYL Mentor training required) ~ EWYL Introduction
  

    You can volunteer at a time that is convenient for you.

As an EWYL mentor...

I encourage, commiserate, calm, pray, cry, laugh and guide moms and couples seeking help.

As I share in their fears and joys, I am mindful, and very grateful, of this God-given opportunity to love others as He has loved me.

The whole experience has left me greatly enriched. If you have a heart for God and a desire to serve please consider mentoring at PRS.

    We offer formal volunteer training once a year. The nature of our work at PRS is uniquely personal and sensitive, so training for all volunteer lay-counselors is mandatory.

    For those who prefer not to have direct contact with clients, it is still critical that everyone understand the issues and needs that are involved in our services. This enables all volunteers to to have an overview that helps to show how their particular area of service fits into the mission. We ask that you attend the next scheduled formal training should you decide to have more contact with clients.

    By attending the training volunteers are also equipped to move from one area of service to another, should they so choose in the future.

    You may start volunteering whenever you like. You will receive informal training which will enable you to get started until the formal training is scheduled.
