Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I get good information on all my options?

PRS is committed to providing you with complete and accurate information about your options and referrals to resources. **

How can I make the best choice for my future?

The answer will be different for each person since each person's situation will be unique. Counselors at our centers will guide you as you consider the issues that may impact you. As with any important decision in your life, making the best choice can only happen if you have all the information.

At PRS, we will help ensure that you are aware of relevant information and if we don't have specific answers to particular questions, we will provide you with referrals to sources that would have the information.

Where can I find medical care?

Obtaining medical care will depend on a number of things such as whether you have medical insurance or if you do not, whether you are eligible to receive no cost/low cost medical services. Whatever your situation, our counselors will assist you in identifying your resources to receive medical care.

Should I have the baby or get an abortion?

This is one of the most profound questions that you will ever need to consider. The best way to help you make this decision is to meet with one of our counselors. They will take all the time you need to talk this over.

Will the baby interfere with my future goals?

Having your baby will probably change how or when you move toward your goals but it does not necessarily mean you won't be able to reach your goals. It just means you will need to include being a mother when you are planning on how to reach your goals. It colors how you will reach your goals, and sometimes redefines what they are, but not necessarily whether you will reach them.

As with all of us, mothers or not, your goals will change over time for any number of reasons. At different points in your life, you may be more focused on different needs or aspects of your life and your goals will reflect those differences. Speaking to one of our counselors will help you identify goals as well as how your baby will impact them.

** PRS does NOT refer for or perform abortions, nor do we
supply or refer for abortifacients or contraceptives.
